John Richardson, MD

Family Practice & Geriatrics

Dr. Richardson knew early on that he wanted to work with people to help them age gracefully. He believes the biggest misconception about working with geriatric patients is that he is taking care of people that are at the end of their lives, but what he is really trying to do is keep people active. Dr. Richardson says “Active Living is the key to aging well.... keeping patients physically active, socially active and mentally active.”

Dr. Richardson has been in practice since 2001 and has practiced in Decatur since 2003.  Dr. Richardson cares for patients in the clinic, on hospice, as well as four nursing homes in the area.

In addition to Family Practice, Dr. Richardson maintains Board Certifications in Geriatrics, as well as, Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
